Xbox 360 Premium Gold Pack Video Game System

I think this is a great system. Its got excellent game, a solid setup and has an awesome multiplayer experience. True it does cost 50$ yearly for the Gold account on live, however it’s pretty well worth it considering all the updates and freebies you get. My only complaint is that the system is not that robust. Mine has gotten over heated for random reasons that have no explanation sometimes. There are many manufacturing defects that save the company money but cost the customers more. All in all its like I have to carry the thing around in a three foot thick styrofoam case just to protect it. Still every thing else is good. The controllers are made for human hands so they’re very comfy to use and all the best multiplayer games are on this system (even though Nintendo has some very awesome ones for parties and stuff). Very good system. I recommend You buy it

Xbox 360 sets a new pace for digital entertainment. More than just a cutting-edge game system, Xbox 360 also integrates high-definition video, DVD movie playback, digital music, photos, and online connectivity into one sleek, small tower.About the Xbox 360 Hardware

Xbox 360 with wireless controller
Xbox 360, shown with wireless controller, is a sleek, customizable gaming and entertainment system.

Xbox 360 is much smaller than its predecessor–it measures approximately 3.3 by 12.2 by 10.2 inches and weighs 7.7 lbs. It’s powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz. It also carries a custom ATI graphics processor 10 MB of embedded DRAM. This is powerful enough to draw 500 million triangles per second. In other words, it makes for great looking games in standard TV definition, and even better thanks to built-in support for HDTV 1080i televisions. It also supports the widescreen 16:9 format.

The unit has a 12x dual-layer DVD-ROM drive, which plays both the game media and progressive-scan DVD movies right out of the box. For game-save and media storage, users can choose between the detachable and upgradeable 20GB hard drive, or a separately sold 64MB flash Memory Unit. Along with storing files, the hard drive will make the Xbox 360 backward-compatible with part of the existing Xbox game library.

Xbox 360 uses a refined button layout for its controllers. Back and Start buttons sit at the center of the controller and between them is a new Xbox Guide button, which instantly takes the user to the Xbox 360 user interface. From there, they can check for friends online, access personal digital content like photos and songs, and more. The black and white buttons of the first Xbox controllers have been replaced with new shoulder buttons placed above the left and right triggers. Xbox 360 can accommodate up to four wireless controllers and has three USB 2.0 slots to use for wired controllers or for streaming your digital media from digital cameras, MP3 players, and any Windows XP-based PC. Microsoft has announced plans for a upcoming video-conferencing camera that will work with the system.

Xbox 360 user interface
Xbox 360 can manage your games, your online friends, and your personal digital library.

About Xbox 360 Games and Media
Xbox 360 is scheduled to launch with more than 20 launch titles, with several more slated to be released within the following month. Launch titles include Madden NFL 2006, Project Gotham Racing 3, and the long-awaited Perfect Dark Zero. All Xbox 360 titles can be played in either standard or high-definition resolution in 16:9 widescreen, with anti-aliasing for smoother graphics. Game designers will be able to take advantage of the system’s multi-channel surround sound. The Xbox 360’s digital media allows users to supplement any game’s music from tracks in their own personal library.

About Xbox Live
A built-in Ethernet port allows users to connect their system to a broadband connection for access to the new Xbox Live Silver. The included service lets anyone create a Gamertag and gamer card to express your online identity, chat live with voice chat, and connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace to buy expansions, maps, and other digital goodies for your games. The subscription service Xbox Live Gold adds to that online competition, game stats, and video chat/messaging. The separately sold wireless adapter supports the common 802.11a, -b, and -g standards.

Xbox 360 Console Edition: 120GB Elite 2009 Holiday bundle

First of all, I’m a PS3 owner and have been nearly since it’s launch. I really love the PS3 and think it’s a great system. I had considered buying a 360 many times but kept passing over it after hearing of all the problems it had and just figured I didn’t want to deal with the chances. Well after seeing this bundle with the new price cut and finding out this bundle is definitely the latest “Jasper” version I went ahead and purchased it. The two included games aren’t exactly *amazing* but they’re still pretty good and it’s definitely a good deal to get both of them included for no added cost.

So far I’ve noticed the system does seem to run a good bit cooler than my brothers original launch model 360. I’m also really enjoy the new menu system for the 360. Or maybe I should say newer, I’m not sure when it came out, but I prefer it over the older “tabbed” style menu previously used. Overall I believe now is a great time to grab a 360. Since it has been out longer than the PS3 you do have access to more titles and more titles that are cheap. Some of the systems best games can easily be picked up for $29.99 now. The ability to use Netflix on the system is also really amazing. The menu system and the integration to the Xbox menu is top notch, it definitely doesn’t feel like an after thought.

Thus far my only gripe with the system is how Microsoft uses it’s point system for purchasing items. I much prefer just buying a game for say $6.99 from the Playstation Network than more or less being forced to buy considerably more points than you need to be able to grab one game. For example, you want to purchase a game that’s 1200 points, guess what the smallest you can add is 1000 so you’re then forced to jump up to 4000 points (which I believe equals twenty dollars) to be able to get the game. You’re then left with odd point amounts and it’s really just a pain! It seems pretty deliberate to grab more money out of consumers.

Japan summons one more Final Fantasy XIII trailer

Square Enix has released yet another Japanese language trailer for Final Fantasy XIII, likely the last one before the game hits retail stores across the Pacific. This five minute video features a lot of recycled footage from earlier trailers, but attentive fans will notice the reveal of new characters (villains, perhaps?).

The highlights of this lengthy preview are the franchise’s trademark over-the-top summons — made even more spectacular and grandiose for this generation’s first numbered entry in the Final Fantasy series. Of course, Square Enix fans would have it no other way.

    Bayonetta’s dancing is really ’sexy’

Did you think the footage of Bayonetta summoning intricate torture devices was disturbing? Wait until you see this context-free prototype dancing footage, featuring everyone’s favorite giant witch cutting a motion-captured rug (after the break). We don’t know if it’s the fact that the animations have yet to be finalized in this sequence, or if it’s the idea of Bayonetta taking a break from her brutal revenge quest to get down, or if it’s simply Bayonetta’s flagrantly inhuman body proportions, but yikes.

What kind of touch-ups did Platinum do after this prototype stage? ” … on Kamiya-san’s orders,” animator Uchi says, “we accentuated the movements of her waist and butt to make it over-the-top in the sexiness department.” You’d have to accentuate the hell out of those movements to go from that to “sexy.”

The terrifying prototypes of Tony Hawk: Ride

Not everyone can be as skilled as we were the very first time we tried Tony Hawk: Ride. Most people, as we understand it, are a bit daunted by the game’s iconic peripheral at first. We’re told it can be quite intimidating. That may be true, but just wait until you see some of the original prototypes Robomodo recently revealed to Develop. Employing wooden boards, blank decks, arcade buttons, trackballs and, yes, duct tape, the prototypes appear infinitely more frightening than the comparatively svelte final product. Check them out and be thankful for the Ride that never was.

Xbox 360 Console 250GB Elite Modern Warfare 2 Limited Ed

Pre-ordered this bundle back in September, was worried at first about the release date shipping. This is my first release date purchase through Amazon. Received it at 10 am on release date…awesome. Now that we have that out of the way. This bundle is a great deal for first time Xbox users/purchasers. Comes with 2 controllers, this is great for a family purchase….no more children fighting over taking turns until you get to the store to purchase another controller. The 250 GB harddrive is great. I currently own 2 other 360’s(one is mine, the other purchased for my wife) both 20gb. With all of the music, movies, and DLC I have had to constantly delete stuff that I have paid for just to make room for new games. This led me to purchase the 250GB harddrive, after transferring everything over I still have TONS of room to install all of my most played games. (For those of you new to 360’s…this helps the games run smoother with less load times and it keeps the noise level down on the system). If you are a fan of the COD franchise or even new this 360 is great! The black 360 with the custom MW2 theme looks great. I have always thought about painting my other 360 black to make it look better in my entertainment center…black 58″ tv, black surround sound system, black cable box, black modem, and lastly a black PS3. A White xbox stands out quite a bit amongst all of this equipment. I would highly recommend this purchase to people just starting out with the new gaming system or even hardcore 360 players who are just looking to expand the experience. I know this review is getting extensive but im just trying to cover everything….now on to the MW2 game. SIMPLY AMAZING! Looks great, sounds great, plays great. I have been into the COD franchise for quite a while, have been religiously playing COD 4 MW for over 2 years now and can see myself playing this one for another 2 as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME! Thanks for reading the review and happy gaming! -J.Fox

If Namco releases more Tekken 6 DLC, it will be free

Producer Katsuhiro Harada commented to UK.PlayStation.com that more Tekken 6 content is likely to be on the way via DLC, adding to the retailer-exclusive Cardboard Tube Samurai outfit. But we can’t groan about Namco Bandai using DLC for the popular fighter as a cash machine, because the company doesn’t intend to charge for it. Harada said there was a “strong possibility” of additional downloadable content for the game — possibly for the PSP version as well, since he didn’t specify. “However, even if we were to do so, it would be free to the end user.”

Of course, this is the same company that released paid Star Wars DLC for Soul Calibur IV after the director said there wouldn’t be. So don’t go empty out your Tekken 6 DLC fund just yet.

The time-lapse evolution of a Castle Crashers boss

The Behemoth, purveyor of fine classic-style action games with lovely high-res 2D artwork, has posted a nice time-lapse video on its developer blog showcasing the evolution of one of its Castle Crashers boss characters. In it, we get to see The Painter come a long way from his meager palette-sporting beginnings to the giant roller-wielding, toolbox-for-a-head monster we’ve come to know and despise.

It’s not often that we get a glimpse at this aspect of the development process — perhaps because a time-lapse video of an artist creating the 3D model for, say, the Joker from Batman: Arkham Asylum would be the length of most theatrical releases. The Behemoth’s video, after the break, is thankfully only seven-and-a-half minutes long.

GameStop ‘Buy 2, Get 1 Free’ used game sale starts tomorrow

You’ve probably got a ton of brand new games you want to purchase, but with Christmas just around the corner, the available funds to buy things for yourself are likely dwindling. Tomorrow through Sunday, GameStop’s got a helpful solution: A Buy 2, Get 1 Free sale on all used games. The sale is both in-store and online, though you’ll need to use code B2G1FREE, along with SAVER to get free shipping on $25-plus orders.

Just so there’s no confusion, we’re not suggesting that you buy used games for yourself to save money, far from it. We just can’t help but think how much extra cash you’d have left for Assassin’s Creed 2 if you got everyone on your list a second-hand copy of Wheelman.
