  • Random messageGo to “Settings” at the main menu, then press Y to create a new profile. Enter “.fortune” (note the period character) as a name. As soon as you enter the last letter of the name, a strange random message will appear. Every time you enter this name, you will get a different message. “.fortune” is a reference to a feature on the Linux/Unix operating system.
  • Alternate ending sequenceSuccessfully complete the last level of the game in campaign mode on the legendary difficulty setting. The new ending features a human and alien fighting hand to hand. The human will say “Its over”, and then they hug because they know the explosion will kill them both. Also, the FMV sequence of each battle scene will be slightly longer.
  • Alternate dialoguePlaying on the legendary difficulty setting introduces new dialogue not heard in other modes. For example, after being massacred by a force of Grunts, Jackals and Elites, one of the grunts asks, “Can I have his helmet?”. Also, your fellow Marines seem to be a bit more chatty (as well as profane). Also, on the legendary difficulty setting, view the entire first FMV sequence. During the sequence, the General says things very differently when compared to the sequence under the easy difficulty setting.
  • Final ending sceneSuccessfully complete the game on any difficulty setting and wait for the credits to end. The game will show the Monitor fly across the screen and laugh.
  • Instant full lifeThis trick works better in co-operative mode. If you need life and you have a partner, wait until you have killed 90% of the enemies around you. Then, have your partner hit you in the back with a gun. You will respawn with full life and assault rifle ammo. In single player mode, you can frag yourself but your weapons might fly across the screen and you will need to find them.
  • Avoid falling deathWhen you fall into a pit, repeatedly press Y to switch weapons while falling. If done correctly, you will fall, but not die. Also when falling, click the Left Analog-stick to squat just before you hit the ground. If done correctly, you will take less damage.
  • Faster reloadingTo reload most weapons faster, press X, then shortly after that press B to melee. Note: For the shotgun this will cause you to stop reloading all together.
  • Alternate way to change weaponsIf your weapon change button is Y and your melee attack is B, it can be fun to run up to something while carrying the rifle. Then instead of pressing B, roll your thumb over Y, then B . This will cause the Master Chief to melee with his other weapon without having had to take it out (for example, shooting with the shotgun and clubbing with the rocket launcher). This can also be a sly way of changing weapons.
  • Scooping up weaponsYou do not need to stop on top of a weapon to pick it up. Hold X while moving over a weapon and you will swap it without slowing down. It will even interrupt the reloading action initiated when you started holding X.
  • Extra ammunitionIf you shoot your fellow Marines you can pick up their ammunition. Make sure to only kill a straggler unless you are prepared to take on all of the Marines. They will turn on you if you kill more than one of them.
  • Extra shotgun ammunitionTake a shotgun that has 12 shots and 0 clips. After you shoot it a few times, you should be able to reload manually. You can do this about ten to twenty times.
  • Easy killsTo kill someone, it is often easier to run him over rather than shooting him. If you shoot him, it will take a few hits. If you run him over, it will take only one hit.
  • Double melee attackGet a grenade, or play a multi-player game with infinite grenades. Melee, then quickly melee again while throwing a grenade (press B, then just as your character finishes his melee, press the L + B). If done correctly, your character will melee twice, but in-between melees throw a grenade. If your use fragmentation grenades in multi-player mode, other characters will not see you throw the grenade and can easily be destroyed by it. If your grenade is not plasma, it may bounce off your enemy and blow you up as well. Also while running, your melee attacks are stronger, but still not as strong as while jumping.
  • Stronger melee attacksJump in the air and your melee attacks will be stronger while you are falling.
  • Grenade rainPlay a multi-player game with infinite grenades. Move forward, look up, and turn, while throwing grenades. If an enemy is approaching, rotate in different directions frantically, and look up and down. Grenades will go everywhere but on you, and amateur players will be surprised and possibly killed. Experts, however, will probably get close enough to kill you unless you get a lucky hit. In any case, if the plan is not fully effective, pick off stragglers with a secret grenade using the “Double melee attack” trick.
  • Blue shieldsIn some levels there are blue shields that you can hide behind. Opponents cannot see you there, but you can see them.
  • Faster Warthog weapon useThis trick works best in multi-player mode. Drive the Warthog in a straight line. When you see an enemy, jump out of the Warthog. Tap X repeatedly and sidestep to the right. If you are quick enough, you will exit the Warthog and jump on the LAAG gun without stopping, while the Warthog slows down. This also works well on ice, because you keep sliding.
  • Moving flipped WarthogIf a Warthog is on its back, throw a plasma grenade under or near it and the explosion will move it. You may have to try this several times. The Warthog will not explode. Also, in order to flip a Warthog over when it is on its back without wasting grenades, go near it and press X.
  • Jumping in a WarthogWhen you jump off into a pit or something else in the Warthog, do not press the gas while in the air. You will go farther and when you land your gunner will not fall out.
  • Use Warthog as sniping shieldWhen you have the sniper rifle and a Warthog, make sure there is no one on the gun turret. Jump onto the back of the Warthog without pressing X. You can now snipe people by crouching down. This allows you to have a “shield”.
  • Do donuts in WarthogPress Left Analog-stick Forward + Right Analog-stick Right. Note: Try this on the Assault On The Control Room level.
  • Warthog funGo to any level or game in multi-player mode that will allow you to have vehicles. Have one player get in a Warthog and have the other do the same with another. Run into each other with the Warthogs and you will go flying in the air, doing flips.
  • Jumping in a tankIn multi-player mode, have you and a friend each get a tank. Run into each other head on until one of the tanks flips over on its back. Then, jump on top of the upturned belly of the tank. Press X and you will be catapulted very high as the tank flips over.
  • Wheelie in a GhostWhile moving, hold A and press Analog-stick Down.
  • Double jumpAfter you jump, do a crouch. You will stay in the air longer and go slightly higher. This is useful for reaching ledges that you can just barely reach with a normal jump.
  • Jump higherUse the following trick to get up to higher places, such as good sniper locations. When you jump, crouch and melee at the same time. Also in co-op mode, jump on your teamate’s head then jump again. You will jump much higher.
  • Flying highSelect multi-player split screen mode and create a game that has unlimited grenades and only rocket launchers. When you start, go to an outside level and look down as far as you can. Next, run backwards and throw a plasma grenade. It should stick on your foot. Then, shoot the rocket launcher as fast as you can. If done correctly, you will fly up with the plasma grenade exploding while in mid-air, sending you flying higher.
  • Flying team membersWhen a person gets into the Warthog (gunner’s seat), throw a plasma grenade on his body. Move away and watch him fly into the air.
  • Flying bodiesGo to multi-player split screen mode and play a game with unlimited grenades with two or more players. Kill one of the players, then get everyone else to stand in “accurate” grenade throwing range. Have each player throw two grenades on the corpse; this must be timed very accurately. Throw them on the hands, knees, or anywhere else, then step away and watch the body fly.
  • James Bond-style vehicle changeFly low over a Warthog with the Banshee. Press B to jump out, then press B again when close to the Warthog to land in the driver’s seat. This works with all seating positions.
  • Survive almost any drop with any vehicleImmediately before you go off any high drop, send your vehicle into a 360 circle turn. This works best with the Warthog or Ghost. You can fall an incredible distance and receive no damage.
  • Mobile explosionWhen playing two player cooperative or four player multi-player game with teams, have at least one plasma grenade and a Warthog. Have player two stand outside and ahead of the vehicle. Have player one will drive head on at the enemy (human or alien). Have player two throw a plasma grenade on the Warthog as the person is driving. Have player one will hop out, sending the Warthog barreling at the enemy. If timed correctly, you can get both run-over and explosion kills. Note: This also works with the Banshee and Ghost, but can only be done once, as it will destroy those two types of vehicles.
  • FlareHave at least two plasma grenades when your partner cannot find you. Throw one in any direction and without moving as quickly as possible, throw a second one. The first one will explode, sending the second one flying into the air. The grenade will explode at a very high point, acting as a flare so your partner can see where you are located. Note: Make sure that you do not move in any direction while doing this, or the second grenade will not go into the air, only sideways if anywhere.
  • TraitorOn a level where you can find a group of five or more marines (such as Assault On The Control Room), kill three marines quickly. The remaining marines will call you a traitor (shouting things like “He’s loco!”) and will start firing at you. If you shoot them, sometimes they will ask you if they owe you money or tell you to clean the mud off your visor. Also, after being considered a traitor, if you want to regain the Marines’ trust, find some Covenant and kill them. If you kill enough of them, the Motion Tracker will show Yellow-Green points where your “fellow” Marines are and they will not shoot you, though they may aim at you. Note: This was done in the Halo level.
  • Piggyback rideHave someone hop onto someone else’s shoulders and have the person on top crouch. It looks as if they are getting a piggyback ride.
  • FireworksIf you have just won a game or would like to celebrate, take two plasma grenades and throw them on the same exact spot. The first grenade will explode, sending the second grenade into the air. After about one to two seconds, the grenade will explode blue.
  • Sneak up on radar in multi-player modeYou can sneak up on the radar by crouching down when running.
  • Quick kill in multi-player modeWhen you are facing a partner in multi-player and you cannot find ammunition, sneak up behind him and hit him in the back for an instant kill.

In split screen multi-player mode, equip you pistol. When you see your opposition, place the aiming circle on their chest. After each shot, aim higher until you are aiming at their head. If done correctly, it only requires three shots to kill and will leave your friends wondering what hit them.

This is a very interesting way to kill a player in a car. This trick requires is a plasma grenade and a human pistol. If your opponent tries to run you over, dodge him by moving to the left of the car. Try to get into the side seat of the car. Once this is done, throw a plasma grenade down. Jump out of the car and run. The pistol is used for backup. This may take a few times, and a few deaths.

  • Defeating CovenantsWhen Covenant dropship is getting ready to unload a group of Covenants, throw a grenade into the door as it opens. The blast will kill several of the enemies since they are all in one area. There are places (especially in the first level) where a groups of Covenants are, waiting for you to barge in and start shooting. If you can, sneak to the aliens and throw a grenade into their midst. It is best when a plasma grenade sticks to a Grunt, because he will run behind the rest of his companions. One simple grenade can take out five Covenants.
  • Defeating Flood typesDo not try to take out any Flood types with a sniper rifle. It will simply go through their bodies without killing them. The weapon of choice is the shotgun. You can take them down with one shot. Remember, the closer they are, the faster they fall. On the small crawling Flood, use your assault rifle in short controlled bursts. Once one pops, it will also pop the ones nearby. Save shotgun and pistol ammunition for the working class Flood to drop them fast. It is also a good idea to hit them with your gun after they fall to make sure they are dead. On the fat Flood, use the shotgun to pop them, then clean up with rifle. When you first meet the Flood, they will outnumber you in groups. For the large Flood, use a shotgun, rocket launcher, or most importantly, a fragmentation grenade. Do not use a plasma grenade because they will run towards you and kill you. When you get attacked by the Flood, after you make them fall down the first time, shoot their head off while they are on the ground. They will not get back up.
  • Defeating GruntsWhen the Grunts are sleeping you can beat them to death with the butt of your gun without waking up any of the other Grunts. You can usually kill a four to seven of them before an alien spots you. They start sleeping in level 5, Assault on the Control Room. Just remember not to shoot or they will wake up.
  • Defeating HuntersNormally Hunters are the hardest Covenant to kill, due to their powerful armor and shields. However, even the strongest armor has weak spots. If you look at their necks or backs, you can see an orange spot. Aim for it. One shot with any gun will kill them if you hit them there. The best way to kill a hunter is to use a sniper rifle to zoom in on the orange spot. If you are being chased by a Hunter or an alien with a sword, run backwards while facing the alien. Jump when they try to slash you. Throw a plasma grenade at the alien and it will stick to him. Turn around and run in a zig-zag pattern to make sure he does not catch you in the explosion. If you are playing cooperative multi-player mode, have player two run in front of the Hunter until his back is turned to player one. While the Hunter is trying to turn player two into mush, have player one run up to the Hunter’s back and melee attack the orange spot. The Hunter should die with one hit. You can kill the Hunters in a head-on assault. Get in close and use the pistol or shotgun. Aim for the head holding down the trigger. Your first shot(s) will knock back the head, exposing the unarmored neck. One shot in the neck and they will die.
  • Defeating JackalsUse a photon weapon to destroy a Jackal’s shield quickly. When you encounter a Jackal, run up and hit it with your weapon or get out a gun that uses bullets, not energy. When you are a far way away from Jackals and have a sniper, they will sit in the defense position and leave very little uncovered. You will notice that on the right or left is a small notch in the shield. Aim for it and the Jackal population will be severely decreased.
  • Satisfying goals and challenges
Kill a Hunter with a melee attack (let him rush sidestep, then attack).
Kill a Golod Swordman with a melee attack (hit him with a pistol burst from very close, then immediately attack).
Run over enemies with a Warhog.
Blast groups of enemies with a Scorpion Cannon.
Skip a major part of level 5.
Shoot down a Banshee with a rocket launcher.
Shoot down a Banshee from a Banshee.
Finish the game in legendary mode.
Playing through the entire game co-op in legendary mode.
Taking out a friend (not in a vehicle) in multi-player with a plasma grenade.
  • Tips for playing in legendary mode

Get a friend. Have your friend sacrifice himself until the room is clear.

Always use a good combination of weapons, and think about your surroundings and enemies when choosing weapons. The sniper rifle is great until you reach the Flood. A good combination is the shotgun (the human pistol before you reach the Flood), an automatic weapon, and grenades. If you do not prefer to follow this example, then remember to use a combination of short and long range weapons.

Conserve ammunition. Never waste ammunition, always gather as much ammunition as possible, reload your weapon during any break in the action, and switch off any plasma weapon for a better one whenever possible.

Take it slow. Do not burst in to take all of the fire. Also, use the scenery as a cover. If you can fit behind it, you can hide behind it.

Use the enemies themselves to your advantage. Remember that each enemy type has their own mannerisms and characteristics.

Take shortcuts when possible. Here are some examples. In The Silent Cartographer level head directly to the security override station. In the Assault On The Control Room level, after you get one of the early Banshees, in the area after you go under the tunnel you cannot take the tank through, the double bridge will be directly above you. Ride the Banshee to the bridge and skip a large portion of that level. Taking this shortcut means there will be no more enemies throughout the rest of the level. In the 343 Guilty Spark level, go to the secret area with the 2-D trees and follow the cliff through the structure that goes indoors. In The Maw level, after the dropship gets taken down, you will keep going. Continue until you see the first open door on your right. Enter there and take another right. This can shave a good minute and a half off the time it takes to get to the Longsword at the end of the level.

Ever since the Xbox 360 was released in the market, people have started buying it. Besides, with a gaming console that is able to offer state of the art graphics and the ability to play online, who wouldn’t want to buy it?

Anyway, although Xbox 360 does offer one of the best video gaming experiences today, there are some problems that have been associated with this gaming console. One problem lies with the red light around the power button. Commonly known as the red ring of death, Xbox 360 gamers have been complaining about this problem ever since Xbox 360 was released in the market.

The red ring of death translates to general hardware failure. What this means is that you need to ship the Xbox 360 to Microsoft to get it repaired by their professional technicians. Because the red ring of death have become common among gamers of Xbox 360, Microsoft even offered an extended warranty where they will repair any problems with the Xbox 360 for free including the red ring of death.

However, who would want to ship their Xbox 360 and wait for a very long time to get it repaired? Now, what if there are ways where you can prevent the red ring of death from happening to your Xbox 360 and there are also ways where you will be able to fix it yourself?

For sure, you would want to know about these things in order for you to continue on playing with your favorite Xbox 360 games.

To prevent the red ring of death from happening to your Xbox 360, you have to remember that the general cause of this problem is overheating. In most cases, you will see people playing with their Xbox 360 games with their gaming console stored inside a display cabinet. Although it does look neater and prettier, it will prevent air from entering and exiting the gaming console, which causes it to overheat.

The towel method where it claims to fix this problem actually aggravates it. You have to remember that wrapping your Xbox 360 with a towel will mean that you are actually blocking the holes that let air in and out of the gaming console. This will cause excessive heat inside the system which can cause it to overheat and damage the hardware inside, especially the GPU chip.

By placing your Xbox 360 in a well-ventilated or if possible, an air condition room, you will be able to prevent it from overheating. The wires may look messy but working and messy is better than neat and broken.

However, if you do experience the red ring of death, then you may want to try out some of the repair methods available out there. Today, you will see that the internet provides tons of information regarding how to repair the red ring of death. As much as possible, always go for the repair instructions that have video included.

This will really help you on the step by step repair of your Xbox 360 and you will be sure that you will be able to repair it as safe and as fast as possible. Using basic hand tools, you will be able to repair the red ring of death.

The Common Xbox 360 Problems That You Should Know About

The Xbox 360 is indeed one of the most popular video gaming consoles ever to hit the world today. Performance wise, this particular gaming console offers only the best. From the graphics it offers to the gaming experience, you will see that this video gaming console can satisfy even the most discriminating gamers out there.

However, although the Xbox 360 is one amazing video game console, there are problems that are commonly associated with it. By knowing about the common problems that people experiences with Xbox 360, you will be able to know if you are also experiencing it and also let you know if it can be repaired or not.

The hardware problems associated with Xbox 360 can range from DVD drive problems to red light error problems. In most cases, there are basically 3 types of light problems that you will notice on your Xbox 360.

When you see a green light, it will mean that it is operating normally. However, if you see red lights, then it will indicate that the Xbox 360 has a problem.

1 red light error will mean E74 error, the 2 red light error will mean overheating and the 3 red light error means general hardware failure.

The main problems on the Xbox 360 will be shown as red lights on the power button when you switch on your gaming console.

If you see 1 red light, an error message on the screen will also usually appear. The 1 red light error will mean the E74 error. This error basically means that the scaler chip has burnt out. The scaler chip is responsible for dealing with the graphical capabilities of your Xbox 360 games. If you have this error, it is wise to call the support center for your Xbox 360 and let them know about it. There is a good chance that they will let you ship the Xbox 360 back to be repaired.

If you see 2 red lights on the power button, then it will mean that your Xbox 360 is overheating. You can easily solve this by turning off your video gaming console, and let it cool down for a while. However, you might also want to try and prevent overheating as this can cause hardware failure or the red ring of death or also called the 3 red light error.

Try to clean your Xbox 360 inside and out if it overheats. This will get the dust out of your gaming console and prevent it from overheating. Also, try to play with your Xbox 360 games with the Xbox 360 gaming console out in a well-ventilated area.

For the 3 red light error, it will mean that you have a serious problem with your Xbox 360. This will mean that your Xbox 360 suffered from general hardware failure and will need you to ship it to Microsoft to get it repaired.

You will also see 4 red lights. This is not really something to worry about as it may only be the AV cable not being properly plugged in. Double check your AV cable and it will usually work.

For the DVD drive error or when your Xbox 360 is not able to read your Xbox game discs, you will see that this problem is basically caused by overheating. For this problem, you need to get Microsoft to fix it by shipping the unit back to them.

These are some of the common problems experienced with the Xbox 360. With proper care and maintenance, you will be able to prevent experiencing the mentioned problems and continue enjoying your favorite Xbox 360 games.

Xbox 360: Tips to Avoid Overheating

The Xbox 360 is indeed an impressive piece of gaming technology. With its realistic graphics and quality of game play, it’s really not surprising to see why people from all over the world have purchased it and more units are still being sold all over the world. In fact, ever since it was released in the market, millions of Xbox 360 gaming consoles have been sold all over the world.

However, even if the Xbox 360 offers high quality game play experience, there are known technical issues associated with it. Normally, you will see green lights in front of the unit if it is operating normally. However, the Xbox 360 is known to get these lights to turn red, which means that it is suffering from hardware failure.

Almost a third of the units sold have suffered from the same failure and the number one cause of it is overheating.

The Xbox 360 has its own cooling systems that should be able to prevent the GPU as well as the other components inside the box to overheat. However, it happens and people don’t really know why it does. You need to understand that there are many factors that may contribute to overheating. Here are some ideas on why Xbox 360 suffers from overheating when it really shouldn’t because of the built-in cooling systems.

First of all, many people want to put their Xbox 360 in a display cabinet and operate it from there. Sure it looks a lot neater as there will be no wires dangling around the living room but you need to remember that the display cabinet is an enclosed space which will prevent the heat generated by the unit to dissipate and be replaced by cool air.

So, avoid operating the Xbox 360 unit in an enclosed space. As much as possible, always play with your Xbox 360 with it placed in a well-ventilated area. This will help get the heat out of the unit and also get cool air inside the unit.

Another factor is dust. You have to remember that dust can accumulate inside the Xbox 360 and on the cooling unit and fans. This will make the cooling systems of the Xbox 360 inefficient and in some cases the cooling systems will stop working altogether because of the accumulation of dust.

To solve this problem, try to get your Xbox 360 cleaned inside and out regularly. This will prevent the accumulation of dust, which will be able to prevent overheating.

Remember these tips and you can be sure that you will be able to protect your Xbox from the so-called red ring of death. Why purchase repair guides or return your Xbox 360 to Microsoft to get it repaired when you can prevent it from getting busted in the first place?

With proper care and by following these tips, you can be sure that you will be able to prevent your Xbox from overheating that can cause hardware failure and eventually the red ring of death.

By preventing your Xbox 360 from overheating, you will be able to save a lot of money for repairs as well as save a lot of time from waiting to get it repaired. Also, you will continue on enjoying playing with some of your favorite Xbox 360 games.

With games like Halo 3, Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto, Bioshock and Call of Duty 4, the Xbox 360 is one of the most popular consoles available. If you’re a hardcore gamer like me, you can play for hours on end.

Unfortunately, these long playing times cause the Xbox 360 3 Red lights and numerous other problems that have plagued the Xbox over the years.

One of the most common problem is the three flashing red lights, which indicates

a general hardware failure. This is well known among Xbox gamers as the ‘red ring of death’. Thousands of agitated gamers have experienced this problem.

Microsoft can fix your Xbox. Unfortunately, you’ll be waiting 4-6 weeks for your Xbox to finally be returned to you if you send your console in to Microsoft. You’ll also want to make sure the Xbox is not located near a heat source like the back side of a television, computer, monitor, or other electrical device.

It can also be very beneficial to get your Xbox up off the ground. The main idea here is to get your PSU off the ground for maximum heat release.

Whatever you do, don’t put your Xbox on carpet. This will block the ventilation and will cause the system to overheat very quickly.

You can also get a hair dryer and put it on a COLD setting and use the hair dryer to blow in the vents at the side of the Xbox 360. This may sound dumb but your Xbox may have some dust that is causing it to overheat. Just make sure that you have it on the COLD setting.

When the Xbox 360 power supply light is orange or yellow this means there is no problem with your console but the power supply can’t supply it with power.

To remedy this problem, first try unplugging the Xbox 360 power supply from the console and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. You’ll also want to uplug the Xbox 360 power supply from the power cord.

Wait for about five minutes and then reconnect everything. You might also want to try plugging it into another wall outlet without an extension cord.

If you are still getting an orange or yellow indicator light, then something is at fault with the Xbox 360 power supply. If this is the case, contact the Xbox 360 customer support to get a new one.

    Red Indicator Light:

If the xbox 360 power supply light is red, then there is something wrong with the power supply connection. If this is the case, try the same solution as listed above of unplugging the power supply from the console, unplugging the power cord from the wall outlet and unplugging the power supply from the power cord. Wait for about five minutes and then reconnect everything. You might also want to try plugging it into another wall outlet without an extension cord.

If the indicator lights are still red, then there is a fault with the power supply. If this is the case, contact customer support about getting a new one.

    No Indicator Light:

If the XBox 360 power supply light is not illuminating at all, this usually means that the Xbox power supply is not connected to the wall outlet correctly. On the other hand, it might also be a fault with the power supply or the power cord.

Either way, try the same solution as listed above for the red indicator lights. If you still don’t see any lights illuminated after unplugging and then reconnecting everything, you’ll need to contact customer support about getting a new power supply.

    Green and Orange Indicator Light:

If the indicator light is flashing green and orange, this may mean that the console does not detect the AV Pack.

Disconnect and then reconnect the Xbox AV Pack. Make sure the connections are firmly connected. Turn your Xbox back on.

If the indicator light is still flashing green and orange, try another AV pack if one is available.

If the indicator light is still flashing green and orange, you’ll need to contact Miscrosoft Customer support.

    Flashing Orange Indicator Light:

If your Xbox console’s indicator light flashes orange, this means the internal components have overheated and the Xbox has automatically shut down to prevent damage.

Turn off the console and let it cool for at least 10 minutes.

To prevent the Xbox from overheating in the future, make sure that it’s not placed in a closed cabinet or on carpet. It’s best to get the Xbox elevated off the ground where the PSU can have maximum heat release.

You’ll also want to make sure the Xbox is not located near a heat source like the back side of a television, computer, monitor, or other electrical device.

It’s been a long time since we chatted with the folk at Rooster Teeth (almost 100 episodes!). With Red vs Blue still going strong and a new Halo 3: ODST ad campaign underway, we figured it was time to go at it again. We also talk about Sonic and the fools that keep crawling back to him, only to watch him speed away and laugh. Download it, and always remember: Camping is a legitimate strategy.

    Hands-on: DJ Hero

As anyone who’s ever seen me tickle the colorful neck of a Guitar Hero guitar or keep impeccable time upon a Rock Band drum kit will attest, I’ve got a knack for rhythm games. I’ve never placed my hands on a peripheral that I wasn’t immediately able to mentally deconstruct and use to its fullest rockin’ potential [I'm only allowing this catastrophic failure of modesty because it's true. - Ed].

My first few minutes with the Xbox 360 version of DJ Hero, however, initially left me flummoxed. That’s not to say the turntable peripheral therein is poorly designed or difficult to use. No, my inability to pick up and expertly play Activision’s newest bundle of musical joy is due to the fact that for the average rhythm genre veteran, DJ Hero is a horse of an entirely different color.
